Our story

The brothers Davide and Enrico Castellucchio, born in a little village in the province of Cremona, began their work as bakers in different shops in Milan, Cremona and Brescia when they were twelve year old.

In 1965 they open their own in Isola Dovarese, a village that faces Oglio river in the province of Cremona. Initially they produced a wide range of baked goods such as bread, pizza and flat bread, which were delivered daily to the local homes, first with a bicycle and then with their famous white Fiat Fiorino pickup.

Their pastry activity begin with the production of “Bissolanini” (known as "bumbunen" in Cremona dialects), a typical kind of cookie related to the tradition of the Carnival in southern Lombardy, and “Ossetti” or “Ossi di morto”, hard cookies that crackle like crunching bones, linked to the tradition of All Souls Day.

At the end of the Seventies, Davide and Enrico invented the recipe of "Isolini", special biscuits exclusively produced in their shop, made with the best Langhe hazelnuts and decorated with a crunchy apricot jam glaze. The uniqueness and success of these sweets, allow Castellucchio brothers to record the brand “Isolini” in 1999, as a high quality product that over time has become a typical product of Cremona province.

After this accomplishment, Davide and Enrico, with their sons Dario and Mauro, quit the production of bread to pursue their life long passion of pastries.
Their uniqueness resides in the selection of ingredients and their focus on producing genuine products without the addition of preservatives. Over the years, as they perfect their craft and compete in festivals, their brand continues to be renown as one of the premier names in sweets.
